A native of Illinois, Amanda began her professional training at the University of Illinois while finishing her senior year of High School. She then went on to earn her BFA in Dance at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) under the direction of Stephen Kaplowitz. Amanda is a performance artist and creator interested in utilizing abstract movement to better understand the self, relationships, and social experience. Her explorations focus on the relationship between subtly movement (gesture) and brash physicality to evoke an emotional response. She has had the opportunity to perform works choreographed by Tricia Brown, Rosemary Lee, Laurence Blake, André Tyson. While on the west coast her work was shown at REDCCAT and the Sharon Disney Lund Theater. Additionally, Amanda is a BASI certified Pilates instructor with a specialization in Pilates for dancers and completed a 200 hr RYS Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga People in Brooklyn Heights, NY.
